Lifting of the Protected Area Permit from Manipur

After all the Government of India has lifted the Protected Area Permit for foreigners visiting the three States of India - Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland, thereby excluding the aforesaid three States from the Protected Area Regime notified under the Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order, 1958, for a period of one year beginning January 1, 2011.
Thanks to the Government of India for lifting the Protected Area Permit in the aforesaid three North Eastern States of India. However, the irony of the decision of the Government of India is that – “The Foreign Nationals entering the three North Eastern States of India - Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland would still be required to register themselves with the foreigners’ registration officer (FRO) of the district they visit, within 24 hours of their arrival”.

Wow! what an excellent idea of alienating the people of the North Eastern Region from the mainstream of the Indian Union … ? Wow … heads off to you India, My Mother Country, You are great! I hope you will keep it up for creating wider and wider gaps between the States of the Indian Union. Please come all the helpless citizens of India and let’s cry with all our mights … “Mera Bharat Mahan”.

Merely lifting of the Protected Area Permit Act from some of the North Eastern States is not enough for the government of India to develop the tourism industry in this region. But infrastructure development based on its natural resources, rich flora and fauna and other possible way out has not been explored so far in this region as being done in other mainland parts of the country. Being bordered States and having different looks; people of this region still have to go like this for many years to come. The communication bottleneck is the biggest and foremost obstacle for development in this region. The roads connecting the North Eastern States are like inter-village road available in other advanced and dominant States of the country. The roads constructed in Myanmar by Border Road Organization are of a very high quality whereas those roads constructed in this region are a big question mark. Further, the Govt. of India never try to explore the great potentials of the human resources available in the North Eastern States of India as well as the inborn qualities gifted by the Almighty God to these Mongoloids of the North Eastern States, which are still floating in the ocean without any recognition. Any one of the great achievers from this region is getting neither encouragement by way of offering promotion nor publicity through advertising in the electronic media. My sincere reminder in this regard to the entire concerned corner is that popularity of a person sometimes gains through advertisements in the electronic media.
